To Jackie
A Very Special Lady A Very Special Friend
I walked into your room last night,
saw you lying there in bed.
Then fear ran through my body,
panic raced through my head.
Fore you see, a year ago,
I saw that very sight.
As I walked into my wife's room,
she lay there in the light.
I left her to go home that night,
she had asked for me to stay.
But I left her anyway,
She died the very next day.
Now it's you, lying there,
again I have to go.
What will the morrow bring,
my God, I do not know.
I won't go far, I'll stay near,
try to sleep in my truck.
Before I go, I'll check in,
hope, pray, and trust to luck.
Not long ago, I found you,
and could not stand the pain.
If I were to lose you now,
and go through that again.
You're a Very Special Lady,
A Very Special Friend.
I'm so glad our paths have crossed,
and don't know how this will end.
But this I want you to know,
as I lay here in the dark.
That a Very Special Lady,
on my heart, has left her mark.
